Kylie Jenner is reportedly pregnant, according to a report by the TMZ. TMZ broke the news that the 20-year-old is expecting her first child with her boyfriend Travis Scott.
Although Scott and Kylie have not confirmed the pregnancy as yet there have been speculations that Kylie is now 5 months pregnant and she is expecting a baby girl. A lot of people have also made their guesses about Kylie’s delivery, which is anticipated in February next year.
Whether the news of the celebrity carrying her first baby is true or fake, one thing is for sure, Kylie might not be able to use the cosmetics of her own brand. After the global launch of her wildly successful liquid lipstick + lip liner duo, the Kylie Lip Kit, Kylie’s fans wanted more of her best-kept beauty secrets. It was then when Kylie decided to launch a broader range of cosmetics and in 2016, Kylie Jenner launched Kylie Cosmetics by Kylie Jenner.
Today Kylie Jenner is one of the top 10 most followed people on Instagram with over 95 million followers. The growing fan following with every rolling day has added to Kylie’s success, considerably. With increasing demand for Kylie’s products, the 20 years old star collaborated with her sister Khloe Kardashian and launched the KoKo collection in June 2017.
However, since it is believed that the Founder of Kylie Cosmetics is expecting a child, the health experts are of the view that she should refrain from using her cosmetics. It all started when anxious fans started questioning whether it is safe for pregnant women to use Kylie Cosmetics or any type of makeup.
Dr. Jacques Moritz who is an experienced gynecologist and obstetrician, while sharing his opinion on the matter, states that there are few products by the Kylie Cosmetics that can prove to be unsafe for pregnant women, and even Kylie Jenner should avoid using her makeup products if she is really pregnant.
According to Dr. Jacques Moritz, few cosmetics from Kylie’s brand contain aluminum in them. Aluminum is considered harmful for one’s health and it can also affect the growth and development of the fetus, negatively. Thus it is best if products with traces of aluminum are avoided by expecting mothers.
The entire range doesn’t contain aluminum, but according to Dr. Jacques Moritz, The Bronze Eyeshadow Palette and Ultra Glow Loose Powder Highlighter are the two products that contain Aluminum Chloride Hexahydrate and should be avoided by women who are pregnant.
Aluminum Chloride Hexahydrate is a category C medication, which is used topically to control sweating. It was included in the products to help users successfully achieve matte finish and prevent that unwanted greasy shine on their face.
This can be bad news for all those Kylie fans that are pregnant right now and in fact for the founder of these cosmetic products herself. It appears like Kylie Jenner might not be able to wear her own cosmetics if she’s really pregnant.
But wait, before we jump to conclusions there are also those who have criticized Dr. Moritz’s opinions. For instance, another San Francisco based OB/GYN Dr. Jennifer Gunter thinks that there are no concrete grounds to whether aluminum can affect one’s health. According to Dr. Gunter, aluminum cannot be absorbed by the skin and therefore it doesn’t penetrate at deep cellular levels of the body. The doctor also stated that she is not aware of any scientific data confirming the link between aluminum in cosmetics and the serious health hazards it can cause in people.
Thus it is very unlikely that the Kylie Cosmetics can be a threat to pregnant women’s health. However, expecting moms must consult their physician before using any products to find out if they are allergic to any of the ingredients or if the components can cause harm to the child they are carrying.
