PITTSBURGH (Kedica) – Tributes flow to Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins, who passed away this morning in South Florida.

He was killed after being hit by a dump truck as he got out of his car and began walking along I-595.
Haskins’ teammates on the Pittsburgh Steelers are in shock and react to the news of his sudden and sudden death.
Ben Roethlisberger called him “a young man who never had a bad day” and said he “enjoyed his passion and love for the game”.

Steelers wide receiver Deontay Johnson also left a message for his teammate on social media:
βI love you bra! You had so much in front of you! Watch out for my familyβ¦β Johnson wrote on his Instagram story with a picture of Haskins.
RayRay McCloud III, another wide receiver, wrote “Brahhhhhπ”, apparently in reference to a Haskins pass.

Pat Freiermuth wrote “Love Broβ€οΈ” on his Instagram story along with a photo of Haskins.
The Watt brothers also expressed their grief over the loss of their teammate on Twitter.

Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin also released a statement with the Steelers organization, expressing his disbelief and heartbreak at the young player’s death:

“I am devastated, and at a loss for words over the passing of Dwayne Haskins,” said Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin. βHe quickly became part of the Steelers family upon his arrival in Pittsburgh and was one of our most dedicated workers, both on the field and in our community. Dwayne was a wonderful teammate, but a wonderful friend to so many. I am truly heartbroken. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Calabria. and his entire family during this difficult time.”

Steelers coach Mike Sullivan, who has worked frequently with Haskins, expressed his condolences and said, “It has been a pleasure seeing him grow and develop.”

His former team, the leaders of Washington and Bucks of Ohio, also issued their condolences.
“I am deeply saddened to hear of the death of Dwayne Haskins Jr.,” coach Ron Rivera said in a statement on Twitter. “Dwayne has been a talented young man with a long life ahead of him. This is a very sad time and I am honestly at a loss for words. I know I speak for the rest of our cast in saying it will be deeply missed. Our entire team sends our heartfelt condolences, thoughts and prayers to the Haskins family at this time.”

Prior to the Penguins-Capitals game at the PPG Paints Arena, the Penguins held a minute’s silence in front of the Haskins.
