Gray said her mother was the first to suggest that she get her nose job done. When she finally did, years later, she no longer looked like the woman best known for starring in the hit film Dirty Dancing in 1987.
Gray said she and co-star Patrick Swayze are not “natural matches” in real life and this caused some tension that fueled the film’s characters.
She said she’s been working on the script for the “Dirty Dancing” sequel for years, and that she’d like to get some of the magic of the original script and translate it for a new audience.
“People today think their identity is limited, and the world has told them what it is,” Gray said. “But there are some people who can see other parts of you. ‘Dirty Dancing’ was a fairy tale, a movie and a hit format, where it uses dance as a metaphor to personify your energy and get out of your head, and your limited belief systems.”
Gray’s diary will be published on May 3.
“Writer. Amateur musicaholic. Infuriatingly humble zombie junkie. General internet maven. Bacon enthusiast. Coffee nerd.”
