As for the Mini 3 Pro, DJI has completely redesigned its imaging system. The optical unit of the Mini 3 Pro is mounted on a mechanical nozzle stabilized in three axes. It is based on a 1 / 1.3-inch CMOS sensor (2.4 μm pixels) with a 6.7mm f / 1.7 (24mm EQ) lens and dual ISO capability for shooting at 48 MB / 48 and 60/60 at 4K. fps. The Mini 3 Pro features HDR video mode at 30 fps and 1080p slow motion mode at 120 fps. The DJI utility allows you to work in full automatic mode or pro mode with manual control over shooting parameters on photos and video.
In photos, you can get high definition (48 Mpx) shots in jpeg / raw (DNG) at 4/3 aspect ratio, ie 8064 x 6048 px. In video, you can shoot in the following formats with a maximum bit rate of 150 Mb / s (H.265):
- 24/25/30/48/50/60 fps at 4K: 3840 x 2160 px
- 2.7K: 2720 x 1530 px at 24/25/30/48/50/60 fps
- FHD: 1920 x 1080 px at 24/25/30/48/50/60 fps
- Slow motion: 120 fps at 1920 x 1080 px
ISO sensitivity for photo or video ranges from 100 to 6400.
Watching our test videos demonstrates the excellent picture quality produced by the Mini 3 Pro. The positioning is remarkable, the images are very fluid and the color scale flattering (sometimes a little too much …). The Mini 3 Pro offers D-Cinil mode, which provides higher latitude for editing for post production experts.

The mini 3 Pro’s small sensor is not Mavic 3’s and shows its weaknesses in managing chroma noise in dark areas of the image, an event seen in some of our photos by zooming in dark areas very strongly. . A thorough examination of the laboratory-prepared images should allow them to be seen more clearly. Finally, we advise you to avoid zoom functions, as they are only digital zooms that lose image quality. Ideal for camera movements in film mode, they are fluid and of very interesting quality.

In photos, the mini 3 Pro’s small sensor does not work wonders, but the service is very honest with the smoothing start from 400 ISO. Softening at 800 ISO is very destructive, but if possible the images should have small details beyond 1600 ISO. Green, can retain a little more subtlety and precision in shots, with much more visible digital noise.
Studio / film accuracy (photo)
The sensor / optics pair of the DJI Mini 3 Pro provides well-detailed footage and the Chinese brand knows how to apply the high definition of sensor. In the examples below, you can see that the Mini 3 Pro is more accurate than the Xiaomi Redmi 9T smartphone, for example, it is equipped with a 48 Mpx sensor.
We also wanted to compare it with the new one DJI Air 2S It offers a 20 Mpx sensor.
We have changed the image of the Mini 3 Pro to 20 MB for easy comparison. In automatic mode, the images are finally very close to an advantage for the Mini 3 Pro, which benefits from the increase in pixels for the model. So the Mini 3 Pro maintains good photo quality while at the same time always providing admirable extra definition.
Studio / film accuracy (video)
In video mode with 4K recording, the differences between the Air 2S and the Mini 3 Pro disappear. Despite the different abbreviations (H.265 for the Mini 3 Pro and H.264 for the Air 2S) the accuracy of the images is the same. We notice a slightly more pronounced accent on the Air 2S, which makes the image a little more flattering. In the studio, the Mini 3 Pro completes the specifications with flying colors.
