Selena Gomez is catching criticism – quite literally.

The Wolves songstress posted a mirror selfie to her Instagram stories that had backlash coming her way. In the picture the former Disney star could be seen in black shapewear from Skims. The 27-year-old tagged Kim Kardashian’s solution wear brand and wrote alongside it, “So freaking comfortable.”

This move didn’t sit well with her fans because while it showed solidarity with the Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star, it seemed to be against Taylor Swift. Swift is a long-time close friend of Selena’s and she has been in a huge drama with Kim and her husband Kanye West.

Following the internet hate, Gomez was quick to delete the selfie of her wearing one of Kim’s products and post a picture of herself with Taylor instead. The photo that she shared to her Instagram stories was captioned, “My ride or die” on top. Alongside this line she wrote, “I would die for this one.”

She further added, “You have taught me so much, walked through all of this with me, STAYED and you remind me to be a better human being. I’m on your side for life.” Looks like Selena needed to proof whose side she was on!

Taylor Swift’s feud with the Wests began years back when Kanye’s song Famous came out. Her point was that she had never permitted West to use her name in his song. But then his wife, aka Kim K, brought forward proof that Taylor had indeed given the permission.

Now the question is, why did Selena delete her Skim’s story to post one with Taylor? Was it pressure from fans? Or was it actually Taylor who made her do it? Guess we would never get to know that. We can only hope Kim Kardashian discusses this on some episode of KUWTK.

This is not the first controversy that has surrounded Selena Gomez this month. In fact, her newest released song Love Me To Lose Me also had some fans turning sour against her. Why? Because it was about her toxic relationship and breakup with Justin Bieber.

Since Bieber has moved on and has even tied the knot with Hailey Baldwin, to some fans it was not appropriate of Selena to make a song that involved a now married man. The scandal only got fuelled when fans speculated that Hailey Bieber listening to I’ll Kill You was a way to hint that she wanted to murder Selena for the new song. A bit too aggressive, no?

However, Hailey was giving no such hints and Selena stans had got onto her for no good reason. This led Gomez to eventually take to Instagram stories to spread a message of love and promote her mantra of not tearing other women down.

As for Selena and Taylor, these two are going super strong as always. Both the songstresses praised one another in separate interviews. In the verbal exchange, Taylor talked about how Selena was making her “best stuff” while Selena addressed how much of a good friend Taylor had been to her.
