Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan are going their separate ways after nine years of marriage. The couple announced this news on Tuesday in a statement on Instagram that read that they had “lovingly chosen to separate.” Soon reports followed saying that they had “fell out of love.” Then an insider told Page six that Jenna “is troubled by his success. He was turning down jobs because of her, and they were fighting a lot.”

“Jenna always said they had to put work into their marriage to keep it alive, and while Channing is a great dad to their daughter, [she] felt like he stopped wanting to work as hard on them as a married couple. This has been a long time coming. They fell out of love,” the source continued. Channing and Jenna also share a 4-year-old daughter, Everly.

“We are still a family and will always be loving dedicated parents to Everly. We won’t be commenting beyond this, and we thank you all in advance for respecting our family’s privacy,” said the pair in their statement. The 21 Jump Street actor’s work schedule is pretty confining which caused differences to birth between the couple.

Channing and Jenna met on the set of their movie Step Up in 2006 in which they played each other’s love interest. Fast forward three years, they tied the knot. People pointed out that Channing Tatum had admitted that he wasn’t able to juggle his professional and personal life all that well way before their split. When asked about this in a 2015 interview he had worded his reply saying, “Not very well.”

“I’m lucky to have people that care enough to make sure I’m not screwing things up,” the star had further added. An insider told People recently that this had been coming for them for a long time. The source said, “Like any marriage, they’ve had their ups and downs over the years but they really started to grow apart within the last year.” The couple has, however, been spotted out and about together recently despite the shortcomings in their relationship.

Twitter is very sad about their split. One person took to the social platform writing, “so sad Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan have split up I will never watch Step Up again.” While the ‘love is dead’ chant following this news is being sung even louder, some people are just glad that Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are still together.

“Bit sad Channing Tatum and Jenna broke up but atleast it wasn’t Ryan Reynolds and Blake lively that would have really fucked up my day,” wrote one twitterer. Here’s to hoping both Jenna and Channing get the privacy that they need and continue on with being friends.
