We have a bad news for you Stranger Things fans. The beloved Netflix series won’t be back for season 3 until summer next year. The audience was looking forward to another bunch of episodes to drop early next year and while shooting is under way, we won’t get to see Steve Harrington’s iconic hair until 2019 reaches its warmer days.
Entertainment Weekly reported that Netflix’s programming executive, Cindy Holland has confirmed that Stranger Things will not be releasing until a year. Holland also reassured that the next season will be better than the previous two. We don’t know how it is possible for this show to keep getting better.
Holland said, “The Duffer Brothers and Shawn Levy, they understand the stakes are high. They want to deliver something bigger and better than last year. I think it’s going to be a fantastic season. It will be worth the wait.”
The third season will not be seeing Hawkin’s kids running around the hallways of their school. It will be about them during their summer break instead. So, it makes absolute sense that the season will not be airing before summer kicks in. Either way, we’re slightly heart broken about the delay.
However, regardless of when it airs, we’re pretty sure it will be totally tubular. While talking to E! News, David Harbour aka Hopper, shared a few more details about what we should expect from the third season. “This season they just came up with this arc and this idea that’s so original and so new that and so fun,” he said.
He further added, “what I can tell you is this, like you see season one you see season two and we’re playing with the same alphabet of these ‘80s epics, but we’re kinda throwing out the model again and sort of expanding these characters in ways that you wouldn’t expect them to go in.”
The teaser for the upcoming season is already out. While it doesn’t give away much, it does see Steve employed at a new ice-cream shop, Scoops Ahoy. Beside him is a new girl and we can’t help but wonder will Joe Kerry’s character be getting this new love interest now that Nancy is all set to couple up with Jonathan Byers?
