She might be the most followed person on Instagram with 143 million followers, but she’s not obsessed with the app. The Back To You songstress has announced on the social platform that she is taking a break from it once again.
This weekend was filled with lots of Instagram-related Selena Gomez news. The former Disney actress shared two posts and several stories. She left comments here and there. She also gave away two of her outfits. But now, she’s going to be going offline for a good while.
Gomes shared a mirror selfie in which she is looking as cute as ever on Insta. The caption of the post said, “Taking a social media break. Again. As much as I am grateful for the voice that social media gives each of us, I am equally grateful to be able to step back and live my life present to the moment I have been given.”
Along with this, the Instagram queen also wrote a very important message. “Just remember- negative comments can hurt anybody’s feelings. Obvi,” continued the caption. It’s no secret that Gomez was recently insulted on Instagram by the Dolce & Gabbana founder, Stefano Gabbana.
Though her army of fans came forward to defend her, the designer’s words and responses were rude. In a previous interview with Elle, the 26-year-old had said that the Instagram app doesn’t have a place on her phone because “it’s not real.” She had further added that she is “not trying to hide.”
“That’s my life. I’m living it the way I want to live it. But it’s about making a conscious effort—if I can have a moment to be with my friends, I’ll take that time. So, I don’t have any of it. I had to make that decision,” added Gomez.
Gomez has always been a part of headlines. Not because she does attention-attracting things but just because she’s crazy famous. Recently, the celeb was in the news because her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber got engaged and people couldn’t stop wondering what her thoughts on the matter were. FYI, Gomez didn’t say a word about it. She just made it clear that she doesn’t care by continuing to live her life to the fullest.
