The Originals would be wrapping up after season 5 and it will not be coming back. Ever. When this was revealed last year, fans were very obviously disappointed. Some thought that the show should get at least as many seasons as The Vampire Dairies, while others were unhappy that season 4 had half the number of episodes.

There are just so many loose ends that need to be tied and with how TO’s previous season ended, it left fans with even more questions. One of the biggest questions and expectations that people have for the upcoming season, is related to Klaus and Caroline. Fans want to see these two characters together, especially those who know the couple from pre-TO times.

Showrunner Julie Plec revealed an itsy-bitsy detail regarding what fans can hope for in this matter. In an interview with TV Guide, she said, “I think what people can expect and count on is a nice thread of Caroline as a guiding counselor to Klaus in terms of fatherhood.” So Caroline would be a part of season 5.

Plec further told, “She’s a mother, she lost her husband and she knows [Klaus] very well – better than some of the people in New Orleans. She understands the desire he has to be a good person in the name of his daughter, and she’s very quick to recognize that he’s not doing a very good job. She’s a friend, she’s a support system and she calls him on his sh*t.”

She didn’t give any solid ideas but still. “Of course there’s still that electricity between them. That’s always going to exist. No promises of where that goes, but it’s nice to see again.” Even this much is good news for Klaroline fans. As for those who are Haylijah shippers, there’s a ray of hope for them too as per what Daniel Gillies has said.
