Did you look at the mirror to find dark circles around your eyes greeting you? Did you stop looking at the mirror because you see these horrible shadows wiggling their fingers at you? Were they whispering about making a permanent place on your face if you kept ignoring them? We’ve all been through that at least once in life. Even if we haven’t there is always the fear of carrying sleep, books, stress, and workload in the circles around your eyes.
There is not much that can be done to avoid them. You can’t stop stressing just because a quotation states that you should, neither can you stop studying or working. What did you say, “sleep more?” Pfft, sleep is for the weak! Luckily, not everything is as dark as your undereye circles and there are some home remedies that can rescue you.
Well, you’ve all heard of this one. Cucumbers are known for refreshing the eyes and reducing the appearance of dark circles. Let chilled cucumber slices rest on your eyes for about ten minutes. Repeat twice in a day for two weeks or more.
Almond oil wizardry:
Almond oil is gentle on the delicate skin around your eyes. You can massage a wee bit of it before going to bed. Leave it on overnight and wash it off in the morning with cold water. You can keep applying almond oil every night until the terrible dark circles vanish.
Potatoes are natural bleaching agents so you can use them for getting rid of dark circles and eyebags. You can either dip cotton balls in potato juice and let them sit over your eyes for approx. fifteen minutes and then rinse. Or you can use potato slices instead.
You can also go for honey to lighten the shadows around your eyes. Apply a thin layer of it under the eyes and leave it on for 20 minutes before washing off. You can also let it stay overnight if you don’t mind ants and all that.
Known for its refreshing qualities, mint can be used to fight off dark circles. All you have to do is crush a few mint leaves with a little bit of water and form a paste. Apply this paste under the eyes and wash off after 10 minutes. Follow this remedy for seven days.
Tomato can also rush to your aid when it comes to reducing dark circles. You can mix tomato juice, one teaspoon with one and a half teaspoon of lemon juice. Massage this mixture on your dark circles. Wash off after ten minutes. Do this, two times a day for a few weeks. Or you can just drink tomato juice with some mint leaves, salt and lemon juice mixed twice daily for a week.
Rose water enchantment:
Rose water has soothing effects and can be used to reduce the appearance of exhaustion around your eyes. Let cotton eye pads soak in the rose water for some minutes. Then put them on your eyes and leave them there for fifteen minutes. Do this twice a day for a few weeks.
Tea bags witchcraft:
Another technique is to go for tea bags, preferably chamomile or green tea ones. Boil two tea bags in water for 10 minutes. Refrigerate these tea bags for about half an hour and then put these chilled tea bags over your eyes. Let them rest for fifteen minutes. You’ll find your dark circles and eye puffiness disappearing by following this remedy every day, twice, for ten days.
