Time and again Kim Kardashian has been the center of controversy. The model has been slammed for cultural appropriation, for wearing revealing clothes and letting her young daughter capture a click, and even for having a toe that people think looks like popcorn kernel.
The most recent of is that people think that she is using her power of influence in a disappointing way. Recently Kim K posted an ad that showed her sucking on a lollipop. But this is not any lollipop but one that aims to suppress appetite!
The 37-year-old is now being blasted by netizens for promoting such an unhealthy product and encouraging young girls to use unhealthy means of fitness. People think that she is telling her followers to use something that can be potentially harmful for the sake of money.
When this reached the ears of Jamila Jamil, The Good Place actress, she slammed Kim on Twitter calling her a “terrible and toxic influence on young girls.” Her tweet read, “MAYBE don’t take appetite suppressors and eat enough to fuel your BRAIN and work hard and be successful.”
No. Fuck off. No. You terrible and toxic influence on young girls. I admire their mother’s branding capabilities, she is an exploitative but innovative genius, however this family makes me feel actual despair over what women are reduced to. ☹️ pic.twitter.com/zDPN1T8sBM

Ouch! Not only this 32-year-old but a lot of fans came forward and filled Twitter and the reality TV show star’s Instagram comments’ section expressing their disapproval. One person commented, “Promoting eating disorders to teens” while another wrote, “I never comment on celebrities photos but this is not ok. Why would you advertise a product which could breed an unhealthy way of living both physically and mentally. Young people look up to you.”
Eating disorders are a very real issue for a lot of young people and to see Kim Kardashian actively encouraging her fans to develop an unhealthy relationship with food is terrifying and gravely concerning. pic.twitter.com/hhFYBbm8hL

Rhiannon Lambert, who is a nutritionist told The Independent, “It is incredibly sad to see posts that are liked by so many individuals, going against everything we as nutritionists are trying so hard to fight. Products such as ‘appetite suppressants’ have no place in a well-balanced diet.” That can’t be good.
According to BBC, the website of the lollipop Kim is promoting clearly reads, “These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.” Definitely not something you should go for! Kim Kardashian has not spoken on the matter yet. Let’s see if she does and what she says about it.
