When it comes to social media, you really shouldn’t take everything to your heart. What you see is just a glimpse; behind all that extravagance, there is often deeper story. The saying All That Glitters Is Not Gold wasn’t just birthed like that. On Tuesday, after the Met Gala 2018 event, Justin Bieber reminded this very truth to the audience.
The Never Say Never singer who rose to fame in his teenage years took to Instagram to speak the truth. He posted a note that read, “Hey world, that glamorous lifestyle portrayed by famous people on Instagram. Don’t be fooled thinking their life is better than yours.”
Most people have this habit of comparing their lives to others. This leads to anxiety and depression, the sort of sad mental state that the use of social media has encouraged. Justin Bieber just wanted people to know that celebs might seem to be living the best lives, but the truth is far from that.
Instagram is only a picture gallery after all, not a window to someone’s actual life. Bieber further added, “I can you promise you it’s not!” This is not the first time Justin Bieber has used the platform to deliver his thoughts. He has done so in the past as well.
Remember back in Easter, when he had expressed his religious views about the event? However, it does leave one to wonder what triggered this thought in Bieber’s mind? Was it the lavish appearance of his exes Selena Gomez and Hailey Baldwin there?
Was he saying something about them or some of the other stars like Katy Perry and Rihanna who made grand entries and literally won the internet? While we won’t ever be able to figure out his thoughts, his words are true. You should never believe everything you see on the internet.
