Selena Gomez has announced that she is going to marry 68-year-old comedian Bill Murray.
But is there any truth to this or did she just say it to top the headlines? Perhaps the reason behind this caption was just to fool the internet so as to put a cherry on top of all the rumors circulating about the duo.
Basically, what happened is that Gomez made her Cannes red carpet debut this week. Of course, as always she looked stunning. The former Disney star opted for a two-piece outfit. The blouse flashed her tucked in tummy while the skirt had a high slit exposing her leg. Her Louis Vuitton dress was white in color and in contrast, she wore a bright red lipstick and cat-eye eyeliner.
Her neck was adorned by a lovely diamond Bulgari neckpiece and her strappy heels were sparkling in silver. Beside her, walked her much older co-star Bill Murray who’s with her in their upcoming movie The Dead Won’t Die. Photographs of the event made rounds on the internet and one caught a whole lot of attention – in which Bill is seen whispering lovingly into the Wolves singer’s ear.

What was he saying to her? The nature of their relationship immediately started getting questioned, in response to which Selena Gomez captioned her picture from the night with the words, “By the way Bill Murray and I are getting married.”
Fans exploded in the comments’ section with some genuinely concerned about the why and others playing along, congratulating the multitalented star. But the question does float – are Bill and Selena really tying the knot or was she just being cheeky?
When asked in an interview what he was whispering in her ear, Murray said that he didn’t remember. He further added, “I really like [her]. She’s unusually bright. She’s kind and she’s natural. I’m always pleased to find some kind of pop icon who I really like.”
