Gigi Hadid is not okay with people constantly criticizing her. The model hit back on all the people who insist that success has kissed her only because she comes from a wealthy background.
The 23-year-old’s mother, Yolanda Hadid, is a model. Her father, Mohamed Hadid, is a property developer. She’s appeared in a reality TV show as well along with her family.
But does that mean that she should not get the credit for her hard work? “My dad was a refugee, my mum was on a farm, went to New York and worked to send money back to her family. They worked their asses off and they’ve given me a life because of their hard work, and I work hard to honor that,” said Gigi in her latest interview with Pedestrain.tv.
She further said, “I shouldn’t stay in my house because people say ‘you don’t deserve to be here because they were successful.’ That’s not how I consider it in my house.” Gigi Hadid and her sister Bella Hadid along with model Kendall Jenner got slammed recently for being seated in the front most row as seen on Victoria Secret’s Instagram page.
Fans pointed out how these three models were given all the camera space while other older VS models sat behind them, almost out of the frame. Kendall Jenner has also been accused of being famous solely because she comes from the Kardashian-Jenner clan.
This is not the first time Gigi has responded to the hateful words of the audience. The IMG model has fired back on haters before as well when they have body-shamed her, calling her too thin. She’s opened up and revealed that her struggle with an illness has kept her from putting on weight even though she has tried.
It is very rude of the audience to judge the model’s success without knowing the ins and outs of her struggle. Also, no one has the right to point out a non-existent flaw in someone else.
