Rumors of Fifth Harmony’s split had been revolving but now the news has been revealed with a confirmation stamp on it. In a lengthy note on Twitter, the all-girl band announced that they would be taking a break and pursuing their own individual paths in the music industry.
“After six years going hard, non stop, we realise that in order to stay authentic to ourselves and you, we need to take some time, for now, to go on a hiatus from Fifth Harmony in order to pursue sole endeavours,” read the para.

The Miami-based band that focused on female empowerment came together on the American version of X Factor. And much like One Direction, the boy band that was birthed on the original British platform, this one too has decided to go on a hiatus. Fans realize that this is the demise of a loved band in the guise of a break.
Recently Fifth Harmony had canceled all their scheduled shows in Australia which had given fans a clear hint of what was coming next. The breakup of the band was more or less meant to be when Camila Cabello left her bandmates Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, Normani Kordei, and Lauren Jauregui in 2016 when she decided to go solo.
Fans on Twitter had expressed their grief over the news, but their hearts were soon mended when the 5H girls said otherwise. Normani had said in a recent interview that the girls were not planning on parting ways, only that they wanted to work on their solo careers as well. Alas, to the disappointment of fans, Fifth Harmony couldn’t stick together.
However, in their most recent note, they have mentioned that they plan to come back. “In doing this we are allowing ourselves to gain new experiences, strengths and perspectives that we can bring back to our Fifth Harmony family.” An insider has also revealed the bits of this news to Metro UK.
The source revealed that “the girls made the decision not to make another album last year when things between them and their label Epic came to a head.” Last year 5H had unveiled its third studio album. Their decision to call it quits also has Cabello’s chart-topping success as a contributor.
He further added, “Camila’s debut album received more financial backing and promotion than any of the group’s albums and it became clear that they could no longer stay on the same label, especially once they learned Camila was getting first dibs on all the potential hits that were being sent into the label.”
However, the band would be fulfilling its commitments till the end of this year and fans in Asia and US will be seeing the girls performing together in the already-scheduled concerts. 1D had also said that they were going on a hiatus, but they haven’t reunited for even a single song after the announcement. So will 5H also sink and never rise again? Only time can tell.
