These days relationships are only a click away. A tap and you’re friends. A tap and you’ve cut off ties. Are you really a couple if you don’t follow each other on social media? Nope. In fact, if you’re not Instagram-mushy fans stay in doubt about whether you even are together.

That said, Instagram, the platform that has birthed, resurrected, and been the deathbed for several relationships has seen the what looks to be the demise of Drake and Rihanna’s friendship or whatever there was between the two.

The Canadian rapper unfollowed the Diamonds singer as reconfirmed by Teen Vogue. While Drake had been following RiRi for a long time and was even a part of her followers’ list just last week, Rihanna was not following him back for several months.

This move by the 31-year-old comes only a few days after Rihanna’s Vogue interview in which the songstress was questioned about her current terms with Drake. The publication also mentioned how she had ‘winced’ at hearing the very name of the man she has collaborated on at least five songs with.

“We don’t have a friendship now, but we’re not enemies either,” said the diva. “It is what it is.” The question is what exactly was going through Drake’s mind when he unfollowed Rihanna? Was he hurt, or angry? It is no secret that Drake has always admired Rihanna.

He had made that obvious at the 2016 VMAs. “She is someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22 years old. She’s one of my best friends in the world. All my adult life, I’ve looked up to her even though she’s younger than me. She’s a living, breathing legend in our industry,” Drake had said.

Looks like now he has taken a hint and doesn’t plan on chasing RiRi anymore. The Fenty Beauty Founder and the rapper however are both doing very well in their respective fields.
