Noah Centineo and Lana Condor appeared in last year’s hit Netflix romcom To All The Boys I Loved Before as a cute couple that fans couldn’t stop drooling over. Their chemistry was undeniable as admitted by the X-Men starrer herself and they also appeared to be the most adorable pair of IRL friends the internet had ever seen.
Basking in the fun of it all, these two may have encouraged the rumors of them having romantic feelings for one another as well. There came a point where their relationship got too puzzling for fans to decode because clearly Lana had a boyfriend, but Noah would still hit on her. Their candid flirting got even more people talking and caused the rumors to spiral out of control.
From there on, it all got pretty messy as per the 21-year-old actress herself, who sat down for an interview with Cosmopolitan. Trolls started targeting Lana’s boyfriend Anthony De La Torre on social media, telling him that he wasn’t good enough for Lana. “It was so hurtful for both of us. This is supposed to be a good thing. Why are you coming for someone who has no part of this story? If you say you support me, why would you hurt someone I love?” said Lana.
However, Lana and Noah are to blame as well for whatever Torre has had to go through. “Noah and I definitely encouraged the speculation,” Lana Condor admitted to Cosmopolitan. To curb the rumors from going any further, Lana started taking her BF along to award ceremonies, she began talking about him in interviews and Torre closed the option for people to comment on his Instagram posts.
This is not the first-time things have gotten out of hand for onscreen celeb couples who are not dating in real life. However, this also proves that stars themselves also promote the rumors about their relationship statuses that don’t exist which can become problematic eventually. Regardless of the innocuous mistake Lana and Noah made, we love Lana for being honest about the fact that both of them were also a part of the rumor mill that churned out their relationship rumors.
