You know that moment when your favorite novel is about to hit the big screen? From the moment the announcement is made till when the trailer is released, excitement continues. You can’t stop pacing, wondering, and obsessing over every aspect of your dream coming true.

Such is this announcement for the fans of Colleen Hoover. The Texas-based author published her book It Ends with Us in 2016 and has sold over a million copies of it. The popular romance novel spirals around the concepts of toxic behaviors and an abusive relationship. For those who haven’t read the novel yet, it mentions a bit of Ellen DeGeneres too!

The good news is that this book, which has been translated to at least 20 different languages, is midway its journey of being turned into a movie. All thanks to the Jane the Virgin actor, Justin Baldoni. Baldoni revealed this update regarding his life as a director to fans on Monday via Instagram.

“So excited to be working with the brilliant @colleenhoover to try bring #ItEndsWithUs to the big screen!” wrote the 35-year-old. The story of this novel follows a young woman Lily who moves to Boston to pursue her dream business as a florist. There, she meets a brilliant young man who captures her attention in the most beautiful ways.

However, as the tale unfolds readers find Lily struggling with questions about her present and a troublesome past. Colleen Hoover also announced the news to her fans on her social media networks where fans have expressed their utter joy over the possibility of watching this novel happen in the cinema.

This is not the first Colleen Hoover book that has been presented the opportunity of being made into a movie. Her novel Ugly Love was also optioned. It was expected to greet watchers in 2015 but that never happened. In 2017, Colleen announced that there was no production underway for Ugly Love’s making.

However, there’s more hope for It Ends with Us actually making it to screens. Justin Baldoni made a successful directorial debut earlier this year with Five Feet Apart. The movie which starred Cole Sprouse opposite Haley Lu Richardson was released by CBS Films and Lionsgate. The film became the third-highest grossing one of all time for CBS Films.
