Ashley Graham has joined Wonder Woman and become the global brand ambassador for Revlon’s Live Boldly campaign. The model announced the news to her fans alongside a collage of her shoot for the brand.
She captioned the picture, “Guess who just got a beauty contract?! This girl! So thrilled to join the @Revlon family as we continue to show #BeautyBeyondsize. Follow @Revlon to find out more about our #LiveBoldly campaign. #Revlon”
Very few beauty businesses choose curvy women to represent them and Revlon is among those. However, this is not the first time that the makeup house has selected a plus-size model to showcase diversity and its products. Back in 1999, the company had American model, Emme on board for one of its campaigns.
Revlon has other spokeswomen in its family too, apart from Gal Gadot and Graham. Models Achok Majak and Rina Fukushi are also a part of Revlon’s team of ambassadors. While Imaan Hammam, Adwoa Aboah, and Raquel Zimmermann have joined the group with Graham most recently. This is what the Graham said in a press release about this new phase of her life:
“I am thrilled to be part of this timely and groundbreaking campaign with different types of women across races, ages, and sizes, and to leverage this platform to continue to create positive change.” She further added, “To ‘Live Boldly’ is the mantra of my life. Every day in the mirror I say to myself, ‘I am bold, I am brilliant, I am beautiful,’ and together with Revlon, we can inspire all women to do the same.”
While Adwoa Aboah said this in a statement by the brand, “Revlon gives us a platform that allows us to be accessible to all different types of women.” “To me, ‘living boldly’ means being unapologetic, knowing no boundaries, being vulnerable, strong, authentic and yourself,” she continued.
