You can take honey by mixing it in the tea. It can also be mixed in warm water with herbs for getting relief. You can also warm up a teaspoon of honey and take it as it helps greatly in the treatment of sore throats.
- Apple Cider Vinegar
The acidic nature of apple cider vinegar (ACV) helps fight the bacterial infection. It soothes the throat and lubricates it, treating it against the inflammation. ACV is commonly used as one of the effective antibacterials and helps in fighting infection.
You can gargle with the water that is mixed with apple cider vinegar. Moreover, you can add 1 tablespoon of ACV it in your tea along with honey. You can even drink the apple cider vinegar mixed with warm water.
- Salt and Water
Salt and water is a very common home remedy used for a sore throat and elders at your home would definitely tell you to do it. The salty solution will help against the burning sensation in the throat and neutralize the acidity around your throat. It also helps against bacteria by killing them
You can mix salt with warm water and gargle with the mixture. Repeat this 3-4 times in a day to soothe your throat. Make a fresh glass for gargle every time and make sure the water is as warm as possible but enough for you to tolerate it. As a rule of thumb, the warmer the water, the more effective it is.
- Sage and Echinacea
Sage and echinacea are another excellent home remedy that is widely used for a sore throat. Sage is a commonly used herb when it comes to cooking and it also works significantly against any sort of inflammation. Hence, it can be used against a sore throat as well.
Echinacea, on the other hand, helps in fighting bacteria and cures inflammation too. Add a teaspoon of each herb in warm water. Let it settle for half an hour and drink the filtered water to treat your sore throat.
